The last few weeks have been crazy. Next Friday we are packing up and heading to Edmonton for our first major trade event. It has been exciting and stressful in equal amounts. There is so much to plan. I had no idea what I was taking on.
The exciting bits included design the booth, creating a theme, choose drapes,carpets, buying display table & props, designing a booth sign,pulling together any media exposure and photo opportunities and selecting inventory to take.
Other tasks have included how much stock to take, how much lighting does a 10 x 10ft booth require, choose hard walls or drapes, creating order forms, preparing lead sheets, producing a catalog, organising show insurance, sending out invitations to invite prospective stockist to our booth It has been an amazing learning curve and one I hope pays off. The biggest challenge still lies ahead...........how do we fit everything into the truck?
We have recreated the booth at home, so it looks a little like a jewelry store in my house at the moment. Zach 4 and Rhys (nearly 7, not 6) keep telling me that I have customers. It's very cute seeing them line up to purchase their first piece of Boopydoodle!!
Our colour scheme is black and white with a hint of red and a hint of zebra print just for fun!!
The Alberta Gift Show takes place in Northlands, Edmonton from Sunday 19th - Wednesday 22nd February. Boopydoodle will be at booth #4031 in Hall B Style. More information is available about the show from CGTA
